London, October 29.
In the House of Commons, the Hon. Evelyn Ashley, Under Secretary for the Colonies, replying to a question, stated that General Smyth, commander of the British force in South Africa, had been instructed to refuse to recognise the claims of the Transvaal Government to protect Montsea Parnmant, chief of Beuohana and territory, over which British authority is about to be restorted.
