The Lunatic Gibson Captured.
(Peb Peess Association.)
Nelson, This day.
The lunatic Gibson was captured last night in Pigeon Valley, Wakefield. About seven last night, a Mr Wadsword was walking with a young lady, and when near the footbridge saw a man, barefooted, walk on to the road about 100 yards distant, and feeling sure it was Gibson, he dashed off after him. As soon as Gibson saw he was observed, he made off with the intention of gaining the bush, but Wadsword was too quick, and after a sharp run caught his man, who fortunately was unarmed. Gibson offered no resistance, and Wadsword obtained the assistance of some settlers, and took him to Spring Grove, from whence he was shortly after removed to town. Gibson bears no signs of exposure, and looks the picture of health and strength. He was wearing a bag in place of a coat, his head and arms being thrust through holes cut in it. On being charged with shooting Busch, he replied that no one saw him do it. He seems in no way violent. *Mr Wadsword deserves great praise, as the search parties were out in quite different directions. From latest reports, Busch is progressing satisfactorily.
