In connection with a Press Association telegram appealing in another column, we are informed that the statement current in Auckland, that Mr W. J. Speight, of this place, bas accented an appointment in Dunedin in connection with tho Equitable Insurance Society, is premature, though negotiation on the matter have been pending. Mr Speight went to Auckland this afternoon in order to complete his arrangements for definitely leaving the Thames, but he informs us it is nol likely he will go to Dunedin, but will be associated with a business apart from the Equitable.
