The winze at No. 6 le7elisnowabout4sft deep; the country continues an excallent cless for gold, and the reef has opened out to a width of 18 itches, carrying splendid amend indications. No work is being done in Ihe drive eastward at No. 6 level, nor will the manager start till the wibze from the level above is down far enough to determine the true course of the reef. At No. 5 leve\ however, the east dr've is being pushed on, and it is encouraging to notice that the resf in the face is now 2ft wide and showing colors of gold. CALEDONIAN LOW LEVEL. The north crosscut at the 640 ft. level has jast pierced the hard bar which has been in the face for the past 45ft., and a gocd clasß of country for gold is now being penetrated. In the south crosscut an es> : collent class of saadstone is being driven ! through, and a number of small quartz ' veins have just Vsen intersected, while from the fact that water is issuing from the face, it is not unlikely that the large reef last cut in the main east tunnel is close at band. ITANHOE (KAEANGAHAEIE.) The manager to-day banked the good payable return of 62ozs 2dwts melted gold, being the yield irom an interim cleaning up, from the plates only, from ~ about 110 tons crushed at tho Ifauraki ■V company's battery, GOLD RETDRNS. ! Adelaide.—Jury any party, tributers, have crushed 24 loads at Bull's battery for the geed return of 36ozs ldwt melted gold. Albubhia.—Maddern and party and McDonald and party have banked the respective yields of llozs 2dwts and !3ozs gold. Caledonian.—Hodge and party have crashed 8 loads at the Herald mill for lOozs gold. Dabt.—McKurdy and party have crushed 2 loads at the Quei n of Beauty battery for 2ozs 14dwts gold. Kubantji Hill.—Thomas and party have crashed 3| tons quartz for Bozs 15dwte gold. ! Reuben Pabb.—Riggers and party have banked lozs 3dwts goid. ]
