LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Wellington, Yesterday. Mr Nurse rose to give notice to ask the Government a question, the terms of which he did not state, as the Colonial Secretary immediately called attention to the presence of strangers, who, including reporters, were consequently ordered to retire, /he doors were closed, and noth ing known until they were unlocked at 3 10, when the Cou^jil was found to be in committee on the Perpetual Trustees Estate and Agency Company of New Zealand Bill. This bill was eventually reported with amendments.—The amend ments made on the Foreign Company's Bill were agreed to. —The Slaughterhouses' Bill was committrd and reported with amendments, as also was the Wellington Harbor Board Loan Bill. —The Otago Presbyterian Church Board of Property Bill, and the Eeligious and other Trust Boards Incorporation Bill were rea"d a third time and passed.—Mr Waterhouse introduced the Codlin Moth Bill, which waß read a first time.
