Ohinemuri Goldfield.

(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)

Paeboa, This day. Ivanhoe. — Good gold is seen ia breaking down the reef in the stopes. The* reef has been cut in the low level crosscut, about 50ft. below the present workings, but it has not been sufficiently cut into yet to determine either va size or value. The stone broken. out so far looks really well. Crushing is proceeding as usual at the battery, and the show en the plates presages a good payable return.

Sic Walter Scott.—Tho contractors for driving the level and sinking the winze are making good headway, but as both these works are being carried on outside, or south of, the run of gold, there is nothing of-importance to chronicle.

. Woods locK.—This claim is owned by nine, shareholders, one of whom, Mr J. McCombio, left for the Thames this morning with 65ozs of gold, the result of a crushing of 47 tons of quartz. Thereof from which this parcel was taken is 4ft wide, 3ft of it yielding the crushing dirt. [The melted weight was 61ozs sdwts. The gold contains a good deal of silver.] Crushicgs are now being broken out from the old Hidden Treasure and Maithaclaims, and payable returns are expected from both.
