AUCKLAND.
This day.
Mr JBrodie arrived here today, and has been busy with the directors of several mining companies. He is very reticent re his Wellington mission, but I believe it was successful.
Ifc is understood that some provision has been made for aid towards prospecting the low levels, and the high level water scheme, but to what extent I cannot positively ascertain. However, you must patiently await maturing of events for further information.
The County, it is expected, will shortly be in a position to proceed with several important works, which, together with the projected additional length of your railway, should make matters brisker during the summer.
Mr Brcdie will probably return by the Retoniahana to-morrow.
