COUNTY COUNCIL.
The usual monthly meeting was held at 2.30 this afternoon. Present: Crs Bagnail (in the chair), Bull, Coutts, Deeble, Murdoch, and Thorburn. The usual routine, business was transacted. A voucher for £421 O3 lid, rates on native lands, was received. LETTERS WERE BEAD FROM — E. Gallagher, of Puriri, asking payment of £9 13s 4d, for fascipes cut on his land and the use of his land for a road.—• Eeferred to the Engineer to report. The New Eureka (Otunui) legal manager, forwarding account for £2<L, for work done on the road to the battery.—lhe Engineer stated that the directors had been authorised to put 2 men on for a fortnight, bnt they had exceeded this per* mission. The work done was satisfactory. —Referred to Finance Committee. J. Northey, calling attention to the damaged state of his fence, in Sandes street,, through the County men having undermined it.—Referred to Engineer. Hoani Nahe, of Omahu, asking that a gate be placed across Elliott's road, for reasons explained by him. —Resolved that the Council had no power to erect the gate. [Left Sitting.]
