Steeldust got th.c best of the start, followed by Minuet and Flying Scud; Steeldust baulked at the first fence, Flying Scud taking the lead, Pastime second; at (he second hurdle thg order waa —Flying Scud, Pastime, Denbigh, Minuet, and Blackbird. The same order was maintained over the next hurdle; ou passing the stand Blackbird's rider made a good recovery ; at the next hurdle Flying Scud and Blackbird ran off; here Pastime and Denbigh came away, and the rest were speedily spread eagled. At the last hurdle the pair jumped together, en« tering the straight both riders were at the whip, but Pastime won a good race by half a length; Minuet third. Time, 4tains. 38secs. The totalisator dividend was £3 Is outside, and £2 11s inside.
