County Declared to have no Legal Claim.

Wellington, This day. The Ohinemuri Revenue Bill was considered by the Public Petitions Committee this morning. It was proposed end seconded, ■ " That the County has no legal claim." An amendment was put, " That although, the County has no legal claim, yet it has an. equitable one," but the amendment was iosf. Messrs Peacock and Dargavitle, Auckland members, fought hard for the Bill, but were in the minority. Probably proceedings will be taken in the House, or the matter will be relegated to a committrc, for the evidence of George Wilkinson, late Land Purchase Commissioner.
