WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS COMING UPON US?
Like a thief at night it steals in upon,us unawares. Many persona hare pains about the chest and tides, and sometimes in the back. They feel dull and sleepy ; ,the mouth has a bad taste, especially in the morning. A sort of sticky stftne collects about the teeth. Tbe appetite ia poor. There is a feeling like a heavy load on the stomach ; sometimes a faint all-gone sensation at the pit of the stomach which food does not satisfy. The eyes are sunken, the hande and feet become cold and fei-1 c'ammy. After a while a cough sets in at firs- dry, but after a few months it is attended with a greenish colored expectoration. The afflicted ono feels tired all the while, an] sleep do-s not. seoin to afford any rest. After a time he becomes nprfous, irritable, and gloomy, and has evil forebodings. There is a giddiness, a sort of whirling sensation in the head when rising up suddenly. The bowels, become costive; the skin is dry and hot at times; the bloort becomes thick and stagnant; the whites of tlie ejes become tinged with yelkw, 'ho urine is scanty and high-colored, depositing a sediment after standing. There is frequently a spitting up of the food, BODjetim.rs with a sour taste, and 'sometimes with a sweetish to.?te ; this is frequently attended with palpatation of the heart; the visijn becomes impaired with spols beioro the eyes 5 there is a feeling of great prrs'ration and weakness. All of these symptoms are in turn present. It is thought that nesrly one-third of our population has this disease in som9 of its varied forms. It has been found that medical men have mistaken tho nature of this disouee. Some have treated ifc for a Jiver»coraplaint, others for kidney diseiee, etc., etc., but none of the various kindß of treatment bate been attended with success, btcauße tliorimedy should bo such 98 to act harmonicus'y upon ench of thess organs, and upou the stomach as well; j for ia Djspcpeia (for this is really what the disease is.) all of these orgar.B partake of this disease and require a remedy that will act upon'all ut the same time. Biegel's Curative j Syrup acts like a charm in this class of complaints, giving almost immediate relief. The following letters from chemi-ts of standing in I the community where they live show in what estimation tho article is held. Wholesale Agents—Kempthorne, Prorser & Co.'s New Zealand Drug Co. (Limited), Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. John Archer, Hatthill, near Sheffield:—l can confidently recommend it to all who may be suffering from liver or slcmach complaints, having the testimony of uoy customers, who have derived greut benefit fiom the Syrup and Pills. Lame, Melksham :—I can well recommend the Cuative Syrup from having proved its efficacy for indigesti >n myself. Fiiockheim, Arbroatb, Forfarsbire, Sept. 23,1882.—Dear Sir,—Last year I sent you a letter recommending Mother Siegel's Syrup. I have very much pleasure in still bearing testimony to tbe very satisfactory results of the famed Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines die out with mo, but Mother Siegcl has had a steady sale ever since I commenced, and is still in as great demand as when I first began to Eell the medicine. The cures which have come under my notice ore chifrfly those of liver complaint and general debility. A certain minister in my neighborhood says it is the only thing which, has benefited him and restored him to his normal condition of h> alth after being unable to preach for a considerable length of time. I could mention also a great many other cases, but space would not allow. A near friend of mine, who is very much addicted to costiveness.or constipation, finds tbat Mother Seigel'a Pills a c the only pills which suit his complaint. AH other pills cause, a reaction wbicb is very annoying. Mother Seigel's Pills do not leave a bad aftereffect. I have much pleasure in commending again to suffering humanity Mother Selgel'a medicines, which are no sham. If this letter is of any service you can publish, ifc. Yours very truly, (Signed) William S. Glass, Chemist. A. 3. White, Efq. 15th August, 1883. Dear Sir,—l write to tell you that Mr Henry Hillier, of Yatesbury, Wi'.ts, informs me thnt he suffered from a severe form of indigestion for upwsrda of faur years, and look no end of doctor's medicine without tho slightest benefit, and declares Mother Seigei|s Syrup which he got from me has saved his life. . Youra truly, . (Signed/ N. Webb, Mr White. Chemist, Calne.
