"D •LIOA'? X GROUND " -abi>"LUBLINE."
The programme presented by Will* mott's Dramatic and Comedy Company list Dight was worthy of a larger attendance, both the pieces staged being brimfull of fun, while the local hit's were well put and provoked roars of laughter. The single-act comedietta of j" Delicate Ground,"'.a tale found on the French Rero« lution, was admirably plsycd by Mr Rep Rede as the Citizen Sangfroid*. Miss Lawrence as his wife, and Mr Wilkinson as the returned lover Alpbonze, while the ' sparkling burlesque of •'Lurline" kept the audience thoroughly pleased and amused from start to finish. _ Miss Johns took tho principal part of Sir Rupert the Reckless, while Mr Wilkinson, as his Seneschal, wasiniinitable in his absurdities. Miss Wyatt appeared as Wilfred, Miss Lawrence made a pretty Lurline. and Mr Marter created great fun as her nymph Wavelet. Baron Witz was T pourtrayed by Mr Simmonds, his daughter Lady Una by Miss Duke, and Count Calimancb by Mr Herman. Miss Johns was encored for her singing and tiancine, and Miss Duke also secured plaudits for her song, but the best hit of the evening *Jwas a local soDg composed and given by Simmonds, and which tersely related the Spencer water right question, and finished up with a sly hit at a "Borough Conncilllor and pressman who has taken a prominent part in the election muddle. For this evening, the*emotional two act . drama of " lady Audley's Secret" is announced, and the burlesque of " Lurline," will be repeated as an after-pipce. Those who visit the Academy may count on being treated to an enjoyable evening's diversion. . ■ .
