Gold Discovery in Tauranga.
Information reached us yesterday (Fri day) afternoon that five prospectors who started two months ago from the Thames for the purpose of prospecting the Eatikati ranges have been successful. The party consists of Messra Little, J. MeGhee and three others, and they report having found good gold in the bed of the tiTer Waitawleta. They are now following up the reef. The best road to get at tbe locality can be made through Mr Shaw's land at Katikati, the distance being about five mileß. The gold has been found about three miles within the County boundary, and within the line to which the £1000 reward advertised in the Bay of Plenty Times will apply. We understand the County Chairman and the County Engineer intend going to Katikati early next week to inspect the proposed route to tbe new goldfiekl.—Bay of Plenty Timw. '
