Earl Northbrook, who is sow co route to. Egypt to investigate the position of affairs in that country on behalf of the British Government, paid a visit to Count Kalrioky, AustrorHungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, to-day. The interview, which lasted some time, was of a most cordial nature. Naples, September 2. Cholera Spreading. The cholera epidemic in this city is rapidly increasing, and the disease is assuming a most virulent form. The cases now number a hundred daily, and most of them terminate fatally. The inhabitants of the city are terror-stricken, and obstruct the civil authorities and medical men in their efforts to stamp out the disease. . Pabis, September 4. Despatches from . China state that Admiral Cburbet is watching for ah opportunity to destroy the remainder of ] the Chinese fleet, and that after effecting that object, he will occupy the Island of Formosa with a strong force of troops. London, September 4. The Bank of Australasia has declared a dividend at the rate of 14 per cent, per annum for the past half year, and carries forward and places to reserve, £24,000.
