NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL. The footwall leader in the No. 6 lerel western drive has now struck into the main body, making a reef about-10 inches wide, but the quartz is white. There is no sign of the break as yet. The leading stope over the drive shows gold. Ak No. 4 level the eastern drive on the No. 2 reef i 3 rapidly approaching the Hand of Friendship boundary. The quartz looks well, and a little gold has been seen. CAMBEIA. After sinking a winze 10ft. on the main reef at No. 2 level, and finding the lode did not improve, the manager started to crosscut into the hangingwall by contract, and yesterday a leader 2 inches thick was struck, showing good dabs of gold, and yielding a few pieces of picked stone. Gold was also seen freely in it to«day, while a body of quartz stringers is now showing in the face, gold having been seen in breaking it down. MARTHA EXTENDED (WAIHI). j Encouraging news ia to hand concerning this mine, a telegram from the manager stating that all the quartz broken since cutting the reef in the low level is shaping for fully an ounce per ton, while the reef is looking well, and showing gold freely. DART. The No. 4 level crosscut has passed through what the manager thinks is the hangingwall branch of No. 2 reef. It is a foot wide, the quartz showing good minerals, and the main reef should now be very quickly to hand. Sinking the winze from the No. 3 lerel has been started. GOLD RETURNS. Adelaide.—Williams and party have crushed 23 loads for 30ozs lOdwts gold. Caledonian.—A crushing for George and party has yielded 6ozs sdwts gold. Kubanui Hill.—Grubb and party have obtained sozs 14dwts gold from a few pounds of specimens.
