Sir Robert E. Tcrrens, K.C.M.G., formerly of South Australia, and well known in connection vrith the registration of land titles, died at Hannnford on Sunday from inflammation' of the lungs. The funeral will take place on Thursday next, and Sir Arthur Blythe, Agent-General for South Australia, will attend it.
Mr Murray-Smith has accepted a renewal of his term of office as AgentGeneral for Vie'oria.
The Postal Conference to be held at Lisbon has been postponed until February.
Four hundred and forty thousand pounds of capital in Messrs Money Wigram's Steamship Company has been returned to the shareholders.
Mr Duryer, an American, has offered a sum of 6000 dollarsto be rowed for next year by sis scullers, including Beach.
