THE SITUATION.

(Peb Pbess Association.)

THE NEW MINISTRY.

Swearing in of Six Mentors.

Wellington, This day, 12.9 p.m

Messrs Vogel, Stout, Tole, Ballance, Richardson, and Reynolds are just proceeding to Government House to be sworn in as members of Government.

Later, 12.47 p m.

The six members of Government were sworn in (with portfolios) as follows:— Sir Julius Vogel, Colonial Treasurer and Postmaster-General and Commissioner of Stamps; Mr Stout, Premier and AttorneyGeneral ; Mr Ballance, Native Affairs; Mr Tole, Minister of Justice; Mr Richardson, Public Works; Mr Reynolds, without portfolio.

(FBOM OUB OWN COKRESPONDENT.)

This day, Foon.

The latest tip for the Ministerial stakes is as follows:—Mr Stout, Premier; Sir Julius Vogel, Treasurer; Mr Richardson, Public Works; Mr Tole, Justice; Mr Ballance, Native Affairs. It is understood that Mr Larnach will not be member of the Ministry, but that Mr Rey* nolds, in the Upper House, will be the second Otago representative in the Council. Whether he will take office without portfolio, and assist Sir Geo. Wbitmore or some one else, remains to be seen. Probably an Auckland man will be chosen for the vacant seat.
