APPLICATION TO FORM A WATER RACE. fPHE Hauraki Gold Mining Company JL (Limited) have applied for permission to construct a Water Race for raining purposes, commencing at a point at the commencement of the present Hnuraki Water Race, and terminating at the Hmraki Battery at. Karangaliaki, as shown on plan. The Jeogth of such Raco is about 26 chains or thereabouts, and its intended course is identical with that of the Haui-aki Race. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is thrflPleet by two feet; it i« capable of carrying ten sluice-heads of water, and- the number of sluiae-heads, of forty inches each, which it is proposed to appropriate, ia ten.
