London, August 18. Cricket.
The Australian cricketers commenced a match at Cheltenham • to-day against
eleven of the County of Gloucester. The following are the names of the Home team :—Messrs J. A. Bush, E. M. Grace, W. G. Grace, W. W. F. Pullen, E. J. Taylor, F.Townsend, H. V. Page, J.'Hv Bran, F. H. Curties, Woof, and Painter. There was a good attendance of spectators, and the weather was splendid, the ground being in excellent order, and a first rate wicket was pitched. Tho Home team went in first, and were all out for 183; the principal scorers being E. M. Grace (b, 56) and Painter (c, 34). The Australiana then went in for their firat innings, and scored 176 for a loss of two wickets befere the stumps were drawn. Murdoch and Scott had then each scored 65 runs, and were playing brilliantly.
