Ohinemuri Goldfield.
(FROM A; CORRESPONDENT.)
Owhauoa, Tuesday. Mining is at a low ebb here -at present^ but we hope a" high tide is not far off. The Smile of Fortune G-.M. Go. have let their mine and battery on tribute for two years to Sims and party, who ,haVe» started operations with great expectations. This mine has given some good returns, but besides taking out the gold , found by former tributers, and paying dividends, little has been done in the way of prospecting. . ■ .■ .. .■':.".' ...'■; •-;.-.■■■..' ■. • •..V-.- ■ Harris and party in the Eadical are at present driving through a hard belt of country, but hope to get on to Eomething soft before long. • ' .
Stevenson and Nicholl are prospecting the Old Nut, and deserve to get gold for their trouble. ■>?; ■' -:' :- : '.--^-'--" --■v^ r-;.
