"Led Astray."

At the Academy of Music last night there wag a good audience on the occasion of Mr Willmbtt's benefit. The emotional drama " Led Astray " formed the programme, and those who were: present were well repaid for attendance. The piece, which is new to the Thames, -shows a well conceived plot; a neglected .wife meets with a tempter; the husband awakens to his shortcomings in attention, and a duel eventuates, in which the wronged man inagnanimonsly >gireß the scoundrel his worthless; life, which is punishment enough, and the usual happy reconciliation of -husband and wife follows. The drama— ?a translation from the French—is full of interest, and a modicum of merriment is introduced into it. The interest was well sustained through- { out; the grouping was carefully arranged; the dresses were rerj handsome, and everything passed off most satisfactorily. Miss Crawford scored another snccesi as ;lhe :; disa ppoin 1 ted ; wi^ the sGounteas; Armande Chandoce; Miss Duke happy as Suxanore O'Hara; Mr Alexander's Desparre was a. careful impersonation; Mr Twoei;:'u |h> fo^bajjj Qoujt

Chandoce,; performed his part very creditably, and the remainder of the characters were well represented. Altogether the whole company deserve congratulation on account ot the success attending their efforts; To night, we regret to. say, is their last appearance here, and Mr Will-, triott has decided on producing a comedy quite new ".to us, viz : "Imprudence.' 1 This sparkling composition ran, on its first representation in London, for a season of: 500 nights. .:;,:.,;. : .. „:.,;.:.,;.;:,,v ■ ...; ,;- v ,.\.u^
