Wellington, Yesterday.

In consequence of the outbreak of small-pox at Napier, the Government have issued fresh regulations- to the health authorities in each port, demanding that on the arrival of a vessel from Victoria a most stringent medical inspection be made of all on board, and should any suspicious circumstances be discovered, the vessel, with' her passengers, is to be at once quarantined. A ucKirANP, Last night. On the arrival of the Waihora this afternoon Captain Eadie was greatly astonished to bear that Andrew Howatt, who was sent ashore at Napier, was suffering from small-pox, as the man was treated at Wellington by a chemist for inflammation of the bowels. On the arrival, here of the Waihora, the Post-master instructed the captain to send the mails fo the hulk for fumigation, and for the vessel to anchor there. DrPhilson, Health OflU cer, proceeded to the vessel, arid forwarded, the result to Wellington, from whence a reply is awaited. He instructed Captain Eadie to destroy the bed, bedding, end clothing, etc., of \ Howatt, and to thoroughly fumigate the vessel; * Her passeogers fare in excellent health, and greatly annoyed at the turn of events.

Auckland, This day. The Waihora will be detained a fortnight in quarantine, and if no farther case breaks out, she will be again released. Her crew and passengers hare all been landed at the quarantine station.
