T> NEW BJiINCE - f AgPigRIAIt. iiThe n^anager is losing no time .in.opeh:'-' |flg ijp Sp. 2 reef at No(f level. The western drire is being 'pushed ahead rapidly, and is now in about 40ft. from the flatsheet. Th,e dig is attyl being carried in on the hang}ngwall, which cpn,* Navies wel| definecl. The country ia a splendid white class of sanditone, and the lode is a compact body of quarts about a foot wide, well mineralised, and showing strong dabs of gold freely teach breaking down up to the face. The leading stope has been advanced some 15ft., and the lead here also is looking well. It is not so regular as in the drive, but in places there is a strong body of quarta. 4 breaking down of the reef herp took place yesterday afternoon., when lg.bs of specimens were jbagged, a little gold being left in ihe roof. The eastern drive has only been advanced about 20ft. from the crosscut. Two regular walls, about sft. apart, have been carried in the whole distance, and a little quartz is found in the intervening mullock. The main portion of the lode appears to be on the hangingwa^l, where itis just beginning to make solid in the roof of the drive. At No. 5 level, a leader picked up at the break, on.the liangingwall afNo, 2 reef, is being driven on eastward, Some good gold bearing stone was obtained from this body of quartz last week, but it looks rather flinty at present. Eastward of the shaft, three stopes are ia hand on the £[o. 2 reef, which is quite 2ft, bjjj, and is yielding g^ood pajablc quartz. At No. 4 level the No. 2 reef is being stoped eastward, and the dirt coming to hanc^a shaping rather better at th'el ra^ll. DEEP LEVEL CRO3S.
The drive at the 640 ft. level is in progress as usual, but the small gold bearing leader has not yet been picked op beyond the break which crossed it. At the intermediate level, the foqtwa^l leader of No. 2 Imperia|[ $eef ft being stpped, but the dirt iV poor, and the Hrial parcel treated from here gave an unsatisfactory result. Jt proved to be 4ft; thick,, but the qnartz was mullooky, Good country is now being penetrated, and another leader should be met with in a few feet.; , '

DART;
The cj;osscut at No. 4 level is now ia 75fty Since passing through No. 1 reef the country has beon very wet, and another body of quartz, 2|t't wide, and supposed to be a branch off No. 1 lode, has just being passed through. It contains favorable minerals, though no gold was seen. A Rood white and dry sandstone is now showing in the face, so the contractors should be able to make better progress. Ai the intermediate level on No. 2 reef, above No. 3 level, the drire is in 30ft, and the reef has: been broken down for over half, that distance, the dirt apparently being of the same quality as the trial parcel recently crushed. The battery will start work next week.
CAMBRIA.
The eastern drive and leading stope on the footwall stringers are being extended as usual, and payable dirt; is coming to hand. The eastern drive on the main lode.shows no change to report.
