V Paeboa, This day. In this morning's issue of the Tribune Mr Kelly, who is a candidate for the Tauranga seat, announces his intention of addressing the electors in the public hall here to-morrow night. Major Swinidley has retired from the contest.
, Watebfobd, This day. Mr Wm. Kelly a candidate for Tauranga addressed the electors last night in the WaterfordJ Hal), John Killen Esq. J.P. beiDg chairman, most of the settlers here were present. Mr Kelly denounced the conduct of our late member (Capt. Morris) as most inconsistent, and against the true interest of the district; he also condemned him for voting £210 of public ! money. to himself, and appealed to the electors to resent this conduct by voting against him at the coming contest; An unanimous, vote of confidence was accorded to Mr Kelly. He will get almost a block vote here. :
Auckland, This day. Mr DeLatour was well received at Ponsonby last night, /and his speech favourably impressed those present. The Herald this morning is more complimentary than usual to him. He said he was opposed to special concessions for denominational, education, recognised Sir G. Grey as his leader, and spoke highly of Mr Mitchelson. His objections to the Government were based on their centralism, and the repeal of the land tax.

Mr DeLautour has addressed the electors of Newton at Ponsonby. He avowed himself a follower of Sir George Grey, and got a vote of confidence.
At a numerously attended meeting of the Christchureh Railway League yesterday, the following resolution was unanimously adopted :—" That the candidates for election to Parliament be respectfully requested to oppose the extension of the Middle Island Trunk line, northwards to, or southward from, Blenheim, by the way of East Coast; and to support the construction by a syndicate or Government of a line to connect Canterbury with the West Coast." .- . ; :
The contest between Mr Sheehan and Mr Ormond in Napier is being carried on with some bitterness.
Mr Dargaville addressed the electors of Auckland City West on Wednesday evening, and received a rote of confidence. He was very strong in his denunciation of the Government, whom he said had kept in office by corruption, and he quoted numerous sums of money which he stated had been spent to obtain votes. He was also .strong on the. subject of the Herald's manoeuvring, saying it was the worst enemy Auckland had, v
