THE KARAKA CREEK.
(To the Editor of the If yening Star.) Sic,-—Can you inform me why a public body like the Borough Council commit acts of injustice in their corporate capacity which if done privately would ■ caus3 each individual member to be scouted out of society. In the present instance I allude to their treatment of Bird and party, contractor! for clearing out;the- Earaka Creek, who did their work well.r—and auch work that no Borough Councillor would do for one day if you dtfered him £s,—yet they are to lose £22 iOs which was fairly earned. I feel sure that the burgesses do not wiiu those who work for them to be treated in this manner, while Mr Mason is to get £30 for nothing. After this exhibition, I should be ashamed to walk the streets as - a Borough Councillor.—l am* &o. t y - ;
