Coromandel Mining.
Tokatea -^After.years of patient labour this/company is at lasfc nearing the big reef. The contractors'^bave entered a chauge of country; \whifth appears to be the soft channel which ig knowing to exist on the footwall of this reef. . The tunnel is 2549 feet long, and will-tap the reef nearly a ICOO feet from' the surface. A small percentage of gold .has been got from the various trials attempted formely, bub hithertoi'ifc"has not been rich enough to pay expenses. However, the reef is of such enormous size, and the facilities of workiag are so good, that the manager .., calculates an average of Bdwts per ton will "' pay handsomely. If payable gold is ob^ J tamed her a very large extent of the reef will be immediately taken up, and thus cause a new era in this district. -
