This day. - Mr Conolly has issued an address seek* .tng re-election in Pipton- He states that although by an unexpected combination the vote of want-of-confidenca was passed, yet his confident belief is that tha vote is not the present opinion of the country. . The Commission of enquiry into th,e charge preferred by Sprgeant Major B.ullen against Mr Turnbuh,, K.M., has conpluded taking evidence, and the Com-
raissiorers leave for Wellington this after noon. The charge-was for drunkenness in public and private places, and a large number of witnesses were examined on both sides. The Commissioners will forward their report to the Governor. The enquiry was a private one.
