(To the Editor of, the Evening Star.) Sir,—l did not think that anyone in these days of enlightenment—when any^ one can read, or hear the Bible readcould hare such a belief as Mr Horn professes to have. If we are not to take the Bible for onr guide, what must we take ? Mr Horn does not believe the Bible; where then has he learned about this God he believes in ? If be is taught by the spirits, he had better take the adTice given in Ist John, 4th chapter, Ist, 2ad, and 3rd verses—" Beloved, beliere not every spirit, but fry the spirits whether tiiey are of God. Hereby know ye the spirit of God. Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus, Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is the spirit of Anti-Christ, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already is it in the world." Mr Horn does not believe that all things are possible with God; but let him beware, and not trifle with his soul; let him put off his garment of self-righteousness, and put on the righteousness of Jesus Christ; the Saviour of the world, not of a few, but of whosoever will come to Him, lest in the last great day , he be among those who' shall say to the. rocks and mountains, " Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb." And let Mr Horn remember what is in Eevelations, last chapter—" If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this Book: and if any man shall take away from the words of the Book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life, and out of the Holy City, and from the things which are written in this Book." I pray God will open Mr Horn's spiritual eyes, and give him to feel his need of a Saviour, and to see that our own righteousness cannot save us. I have a blessed hope within me, and a peace which the world cannot give cor yet take away. I know my sins are all forgiven, and I am cleansed from all unrighteousness, and I have the witness of God's Holy Spirit within me; and this is not through any merit of mine, but through the atonement made by Jesus Christ for my sins, and for the sins of the whole world.—-I anv&c., :.. M. A. I.
