Three Scotchmen, Dc Watscn, Me John Maclaren. and Mr Eabert Mac* kenzie, were walking over the Reicbs Bridge, which, spans the Danube at & height of seventy feet, recently, when the two. youugeir men teased Dr Watson saying that his courage would fail him had he to jump from the bridge into the river. All at once Dr Watson mounted the parapet, »ad before his friends could hinder him, jumped into the river, which ran' seventy feet below. Despite the coldness of the water and the current, JJr Watson swam to the shore, where he wsb taken into custody by the police.
