Sydney, Yesterday. Arrived, yesterday morning: The Union steamship Wakatipu, from Wellington. Sailed, this afternoon: The steamship Manapouri. for Auckland. The football match between the New Zealand team and the representatives of, the Western Districts-, played at Bathurst yesterday is considered to have been one of the toughest contests the visitors have yet had. Victory No. *7.
The New Zealanders played their seventh match to day, and scored another victory against the University and Waileroo clubs combined. During the first half of the game the visitors showed to great advantage, and scored rapidly, but during the second spell the local men showed in much better form, scoring about even, and the play became very fast oo both sides. At the conclusion of the game the scores stood as follows j— New Zealand, 23 points; Combined team 10. Mew Zealand thus won the match by 13 points. The weather was fine, and thf ground in good order,

Mr Bray, Premier, is expected to tender the resignation of the Ministry to tho Governor, and it is probable that Mr Colton will be summoned to undertake the task of forming a 1 new Cabinet.
