MUD! MUD!! MUD!!!
(To the Editor of the Evening rJta,t.) Sir,—Your correspondent o f yesterI'LTJI^ °U ft?- <Jueß>n of cabs, referred to the muddy state of the Tararu load, and said if cabs were placed on this road the residents would be enabled to reach the asphalt in town without the adjunct of mud. Now, sir, my object in ■writing• w to call the attention of the Councillors of the North Ward to the disgraceful state of the footpath on the road referred to v with a view to some improvement being effected, as it is pitiable to see women and children wading through ™c m?d-holes and sludge which abounds tno whole length of the fojtpathy and, again, the residents are not so fortunate a3 to afford to ride to town even though the cabs were available. Trusting our wardsmen will do their duty, though at the eleventh hoar,—l am. &0«» VoxPopuw.
