Paeboa, This day. Sib Waltes Scott.—The crushing now being put through for this claim at Hauraki battery is shaping for a much better return than Was obtained from the last parcel, which yielded loz per (on. At the mine the upper level has been driven rght up to the Ivanhoe Co.'s boundary, and the men who were employed therein have started to extend tho low level, which affords about 300 feet of backs, and in which, judging from the general character of the reef, the best gold will undoubtedly be obtained.' >
Golden Ccown GKM. Co.—Good progress is being made with the work of sinking the intermediate, as well as the low level winze, and the stone now coming to hand from these two points will, when passed through the battery, speak more eloquently for the value of the " Crown reef" than anything I can say about it.'
