WELLINGTON.
This day. The nominations for the Ashburton seat are fixed for the 25th June, and the election takes place on July 2nd. A private cablegram from London, received this morning, states that about 2000 carcases of mutton by the steamer Florida, from Wellington, arrived in bad condition. The damage was not caused by defective working of the machinery, but is attributed to water which by some means found its way into the hold.
