The New Zealand Shipping Co.'s chartered steamship , Doric arrived here on Saturday from Piymoulh (April 26)" en route for Auckland. There are several cases of measles and clrcken-pox on board, and one death from small-pox occurred shortly af.er the vessel leaving Plymouth. The*passengers for this port have been landed, and plared in quarantine, and the vessel has proceeded on her voyage to Auckland. , (

The New Zealand football team played the 1 fifth match of their toar ,'oj-day, when .they met for the second time, the representative fifteen of. New South Wales on local ground. The weather was all that could be desired, but the attendance was only model ate, not more than a thousand persona being present. The turf was hard and in good condition. The visitors ,hrd another easy victory over their opponents, who were completely bv.errnatched, and only succeeded in obtaining one try, while the New Zealanders secured three goals^and. three tries. All the goals were kicked by Ryan, and the touchdowns were securrd by Robertson, Helmore, Taiaroa, and Ryan. The passing and dribbling of the victors generally was excellent, and some splendid runs were made by most of the team, but particularly by Ryan and Warbrick.
