DART.
The well-hole of v the shaft is down tbe required depth below the proposed No. 4 level, though it has to be squared up and timbered yet. A large vein of quartz, supposed to be a dropper off No. 1 reef, is showing in the puaip compnrtmerit. It contains very promising minerals. The manager estimates that by Tuesday next be will be able to commence cutting out the chamber. This will be oiade very small for the present; but us soon as the crosscut towards No. 2 reef is iv a few feet, men will be put on to enlarge it. Tbe winze on No. 2 reef at No. 3 level has been started, but no quartz has yet been broken! In the western drive at this level, the reef is rather rubbly, bul contains excelieut minerals. Some of the company's nun arc now engaged sloping out the small block to tbe westward of tho whim shaft, above No: 2 love!. It is very small, being only about 20ft. long.
