This day. t A Waikato farmer named Mitchell was killed by a tree falling on him.
Serious charges of immorality have been laid against the officers of the Crusader by the passengers. Bloomfield, a local artist, sent Home some cases^ of pictures of New Zealand scenery by the steamer Doric, and on the steamer's arrival in England it was discovered that the cases were empty and the pictures gone.
Later
Captain Scotland, of the ship Crusader, has been arrested for indecent assault, alleged to have been committed on one of the passengers on the voyage out.
