LABOUR REPORT.
JR. M. Heighton and Co., 177 Queen street, Auckland, report as follows:—The supply of men and women servants has b3en brisk and far exceeding the demand, especially' in farm hands; the chief cause of the rapid supply is owing to so many arrivals from various parts of New Zealand, Australia, etc. By our over supply we are enabled to satisfy the wants of our employers more to their satisfaction and' requirements. Our engagements during the paßfc week are as follows:—Milkers, 10a to 15s per weok ; laborers, 6a to 8s per day ; bush hands, 5s par day and house; farm hands, 153 to 20s per week; useful men, 20s; under grooms, 20s per week and found ; blacksmiths, 40s and found ; waited, 25s ; second cooks, 25s to 30s; cooks, 50s and found ; married couples, £75 to £85 and found. We can supply general hands, clerks, storemen, grooms and gardeners, bakers' assistants, car* penters, hotelmen, waiters, men cooks, married couples for farms and bush, laborers, milkers, station hands, station managers, farm harJlß, farm managers. Women servants: Nursegirls, 63 to 83; parlourmaids, 12s; housemaids, 10s to 12s 5 housekeepers, 15s to 255; cooks, 12s to 20s 5 general servants, 123 to 14s.
