New Find.*—The manager telegraphed yesterday as follows :—" Cut a reef in low level.crosscut, showing gold; cannot yet say-whether it is No. 2 reef; think it is reef that junctions with footwall of, No. 2 reef, as mentioned iv report of February 9."
Inveeness.—The manager telegraphed yesterday :—"Crushed 2| tons for I7Bozs 17dwts amalgam, cold water. Tailings not finished."
Diamond Guliy.-—The manager to-day brought down 4,30zs 3dwts retorted gold, which was reduced on melting to 41ozs 14dwts. This was obtained as follows : — Specimens which have been on handsome time, 17ozs 19dwts gold ; picked stone from wioze, 16ozs ; 5 tons quartz burned in a wood fire before- being crushed, 3ozs Bdwts ; 5 do. unburned, 50z3 16dwts gold. The yield is a very satisfactory one, and the treatment of the two parcels tells in favor of treating the'quartz just ns it comes from the mine. The value of the gold is £2 19s 2d per ounce.
