The first explosion took place at the Junior Carlton Club in Pall Mall, where an infernal machine was dropped down the area, and the explosion wrecked all the lower part of ths premises. A second explosion injured the Army and Navy Club house, t!i c War Intelligence Office, and Sir Wafckin Wynne's house. The clubs were crowded at the time, and great excitement prevailed. A third explosion completely the Detective Office in Scotland Yard, and fatally injured one of the constables on duty. Altogether twelve persons .were injured. The e&plosioijs followed in quick succession. A constable found a parcel of dynamite with alighted fuse attached at the foot of the Nelson column, but extinguished the fire in time to prevent another explosion.
