The inhabitants of Cayenne have petL tioned. M. Ferry not .to send recidivistes there, and it is believed that the Government will withdraw the bill or at least insert provisions which will cause its rejection. The Senate Committee has reported upon it, but the tenor of the report is unknown.
The Sorata has arrived with her meat in excellent condition.
It is reported that Miss Fortescue's case for breach of' promise against Lord Garraoyla has been settled.
Mr Lo Bouchere has been appointed Governor of New Caledonia, as Capt. Barriere desires to retire. \\
Mr T. G. G Dangar M L A. of Sydney, has entertained the Australian cricketing team at a banquet. Hugh Shortland, arrested on the charge of murdering his wife, has been discharged from custody and the charge withdrawn. Lonpon, May 31. Ths Dynamite Explosions.
The first explosion took place at the Junior Carlton Club in Pall Mall, where an infernal machine was dropped down the area, and the explosion wrecked all the lower part of ths premises. A second explosion injured the Army and Navy Club house, t!i c War Intelligence Office, and Sir Wafckin Wynne's house. The clubs were crowded at the time, and great excitement prevailed. A third explosion completely the Detective Office in Scotland Yard, and fatally injured one of the constables on duty. Altogether twelve persons .were injured. The e&plosioijs followed in quick succession. A constable found a parcel of dynamite with alighted fuse attached at the foot of the Nelson column, but extinguished the fire in time to prevent another explosion.
