THE SOUDAN.
Caibo, May 15.™ - In* consequence of the hostile attitude of the Arab tribes, and the increasing fears of an attack being made upon Dongola by Osioan Digna, the Governor of that town has sent aa urgent appeal for reinforcements. The Government, therefore, authorised him to withdraw his garrison from Dongola, and abandon the town if h» considers himself unable to resist an attack, stating that it is impossible to strengthen the garrison by reinforcements at the present time.

Australian Mining .Company has not been floated, owing to feeling some distrust as to the jmining prospects, and it is probable that an inspector will be sent out to report on the Maldon mines. Mr Mclntyre is a passenger for Australia by the s.s. Assam. Sir Henry.Locke's Private Secretary wilj be Captain Trail, and his Aide-de-camps Viscount Castlerosoe and Mr Seymour Hughes.
