LABOUR REPORT.

ft. M. Heighton and Co., 177 Queen street, Auckland, report as follows:—We have made many engagements and employed good general hands during.the past week at current rate of wsgas. Thorough good ploughmen ond competent hands are scarce, although wo have a few registered on our books, but there are numbers of men waiting and willing to work at lower wages. Our engagements during the past week bay« been: —Farm hands, 15s to £1 per week and found,j milkera, JOa to 15« per week and found; oooks. £1 per week and found; waiters, 25s lo 30s; and others at ourren^rote'B., We have registered on o,ur books, viz,' station managers, station hands, - grooms and gardeners, laborers, ploughmen, jmilkers, busbmen, married couples for farmi.' and bushwork, cooks, waiters, etoretnen, a ssiafcants, and others. Women servants are not quite so scarce at they have been during the kit few months, and we have found them ready employment as—Housekeepers, 15s to 20dj housemaids, 10s to 12s; cooks, 15s to ' 20e j parlourmaids, 12a. We have servants registered on. our books waiting for employment in the city. "
