xms ciay. Burnt to Death. Mrs Wallace, aged 73, last Friday, was standing over the kitchen fire at her residence .at Petane, when her dress ; caught "fire. She ran outside, enveloped in flames, and her screams brought assistance, but not before her clothes were burnt off. She died to-day from the effects of the injuries. It now transpires that Mr Austin, cannot come here to act with Messrs Scott and Goodall as Commissioners on Goodall's harbor scheme, and Mr C. N. Bell, C.E., has been asked to act instead.
