OUR MINES.

NEW PKINCE IMPERIAL.

Cleaning up and retorting for the month took place this morning for the good pay- I able yield of 6200zs of gold, which was deduced bh melting to 611ozs vlodwts. The total quantity of quartz treated was '. 618 lojds, so the return is an average of nearly "Sin ounce per load. The dirt from I.No. 1 reef was not kept entirely separate from that broken out of No. 2, but tests which have been made show that it shapes equally as well as the smaller lode. DAKT. Cleaning up and retorting will take 1 place on Saturday morning, and a good payable yield is expected. The dirt continues to shape well, and the stopes on No. 2 reef above No. 3 level have looked better lately. A few pounds of picked I stone came too hand from them last night. The 201bs of stone which were obtained while breaking down the lode on the floor j of No. 3 level, on Saturday, are of good quality, and gold is showing freely in' the floor. A winze will be commenced close to this point shortly, and carried down as far as the influx of water will allow. The manager estimates that the shaft will be completed in six weeks, there being only two shifts employed in it,, and the crosscut at No. 4 level will probably have to be extended 150 ft. beibro reaching No. 2 lode, though No. 1 will be met with either in or close to the chamber. The country is a favorable sandstone, which augurs well for the quality of No. 1 reef, and considering the prospects met with in driving No. 3 level, and the fact that the present block has yielded much better than the one above did, it is only reasonable to suppose that the No. 2 reef will be of good quality at No. 4. GOLD EETUJRNS. City of Manchester. — Scott and party,, proprietors, have been fortunate this month in coming upon a small patch. A crushing of 9 loads dirt and 36 lbs. of specimens has just been completed for the good yield of 56ozs. 14dwts. melted gold. _
