TIMARU RACES-SECOND DAY.
Timaru, Yesterday. Tkere was grand weather and a large attendance at the races to-day.
Handicap Steeplechase of lOOsovs, 2j miles. —Clarence, 1; Agent, 2 ; Ron a, 3. Black Doctor, Karera, Encore, and Fawn also ran. Encore led from the start to the water jump, ou the second time round, when Agent and Clarence went up, and foqght it out to the finish, Clarence only beating his old opponent by a neck, both horses under the whip; time, dmins 35secs. The betting was eren on Clarence.

miles.—Tasman, 1'; Sou'wester, 2; Lady Emma, 3. Vanguard also ran. Vanguard and Sou'wester made the running till the bend into the straight, when Tasman went up and won by a little over a length ; time, 2mins 40fsecs. Selling Raob of 50aovs, six furlongs. —Makarakara, 1; Tongariro, 2; Billy, 3.
Wintee Oats Handicap of 60sovs, one mile.—Eubina, 1; Minerva, 2 ; Princess Royal, 3. . Eubina won by a neck ; time, Imin 46|secs.
