WESTPORT.
This day.
The wall paper in one of the bedrooms of Barker's Criterion Hotel caught fire from a candle left burning when the proprietor's children went to bed last night. Half a-dozen rooms were gutted before the fire was got under, and the whole building and block had a narrow escape. The hotel is insured in the South British for £200, and in the New Zealand for £200.
