Melboubne, Yesterday. The Railway Accident. The second-class passenger who was killed at the Little River railway accident, has been identified as Mrs Johnson, of South Melbourne. Inquests were held to-day on the bodies of the victims, but in view of the strict investigations into the disaster which are about to be held here, the verdicts returned were merely of 8 ■formal nature.
Sydney, Yesterday. Showers of rain, which have been for some time greatly needed, hare been ex*
perienced here, and the fall has been pretty general in the country districts.
Bbisbane, Yesterday. The revenue returns for the quarter ended 31st March are published to»day. The revenue for the quarter amounted to £590,000, being an increase of £34,500 compared with the corresponding period of last year. The land revenue for the three months shows a decrease of £37,560, but the receipts from all other sources have improved. Melbourne, Yesterday. The Navigation Board inquiry into the alleged race between the steamers Wairarapa and Adelaide in February last will be commenced here on Saturday next.
