A four-roomed house and store at Anderson Bay, occupied by John William Crabtree, was burned at midnight. The Itipa ie wot- staled, —Later; Crabtree's
premises and furniture were insured inthe Standard for £560. •
At Kaitangata on Saturday, William Davenport Parry was committed for trial for manslaughter.
A.five«roomed house off King .street, owned by Mrs Bain, was burned last night. The building was insured in the Norwich Union for £200.
A man named Geo. Luckhurst has been sentenced to three years imprisonment (concurrent) on several charges of false
pretences. Dr. Parry was committed for trial for malpractice at Kaitangata. The evidence shewed that in delivering the deceased of a child he rupiured the womb, causing the intestines to protrude. Inspector Weldon prosecuted, and Mr Downie Stewart defended. The Grand Jury threw out the bill in the case of Hyatt, for fraudulent insolvency. ______
