In consequence of the death of the Duke of Albany, the proposed farewell banquet to the Marquis of Normanby, and other festivities in honor of His Excellency have been postponed.
Melbourne, Satarday. Mr James Service. Premier, has telegraphed to the Secretary of State a message of condolence with the Queen in her bereavement.

General reference was made in the local churches to-day to the death of the Duke of Albany, and the " Dead March in Saul" was played ;. some of the edifices were draped in black.
Sydney, Saturday
Hanlan gave an exhibition of his rowing at Manly Beach this afternoon whon he pulled a race with Edwards, his trainer. Neither Trickett nor Clifford were present as was expected. Fully 8000 persons witnessed Hanlan's performances.
Bishop Barry will be installed as Metropolitan of Australia on Sunday, 22nd of April.
