Natives Troublesome.
Major Tuke, who is in'eharge at Kawhia, wires to the Hon. J. Bryce that Mr Macfeay has complained that the native Tirihahi, who made rather^! pl^'fi° speech to the Governor, turned him (Mackay) baok at South-head, where he was pursuing his geological studies. This is the flrst interruption he has met with, and Major Tuke promises to see Tirihahi regarding his conduct. A coal deposit has been dis*> covered on Tawaroa. Major Tuke men r ' tions that all the natives at Kawhia appear interested in the result of Tawhiao's visit to England. Tirihahi is the same native that destroyed the beacon at Kawhia some time back.
