This day.
An application to extend the tramway at Waiorongomai 160 foot further has been made by the Eureka Gold Mining Co., and was referred by the Piako County Council at i's meeting yesterday to the manager, with instruciioDs to construct a branch line if he has sufficient rails and sleepers in hand. The tender of Dillon, for £88 3s 4d, was accepted for the construction of culver's between Waiorongomai and Shaftesbury, and the tender of Wiseman, £99 4s Bd, was accepted for road forming between Te Aroha and Waiorongomai.
